Greetings to you in this Lenten season.
I want to make you aware of an adjustment to our 2024 South Georgia Annual Conference session dates. The conference will still begin on Sunday, June 2, but will now adjourn on Tuesday, June 4, rather than the previously announced date of June 5.
After Bishop David Graves and conference leadership began reviewing the agenda for our time together, we do not feel that the half-day originally scheduled for June 5 is necessary. Our recent norm has been to utilize a Sunday-Tuesday schedule in non-voting years, and we feel that this timeline still allows for adequate discussion of all matters before conference members.
Please note: Due to the shortened timespan, conference members may want to make any necessary adjustments to previously-made hotel reservations. Those adjustments should be made directly with the hotel.
The 2024 Annual Conference session, which will be held at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center, in Tifton, Ga., will begin on Sunday evening, June 2 with an opening worship service. The conference is now planned to conclude by 5:30 pm on Tuesday, June 4, with the fixing of appointments and sending forth service. The theme for this year’s Annual Conference is “One Matters” based on Luke 15. The basic agenda for our time together can be viewed here.

Local Arrangements
Banquets: If you have a group that would like to plan a banquet or special event/meal during the conference, contact Sissy Martin at 229-848-5016.
Childcare: Childcare for infants through 5th grade will be provided if requested through pre-registration. The deadline to pre-register is May 10. For more information and to register, visit www.sgaumc.org/childcare.
Lunch at ABAC: The UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center sits adjacent to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC). Lunch will be available for those interested at the ABAC dining hall Monday and Tuesday. You can purchase your lunch tickets in the lobby of the Conference Center upon arrival. Transportation to and from the ABAC Dining Hall will be provided.
